WOW it's been so long I didn't post a thing on this blog, I don't know why I decided to go back now, but it is probably better to tell travel stories here rather than a status on Facebook or a pic on Instagram.
I am right now about to leave Mauritius, came here after an invitation from Russian windsurfing and surfing friend Seva Shulgin, I know him since morocco and our roads been crossing either in Maui or Morocco, and after we started filming for his new movie coming up soon www.theyardmovie.com in morocco, we filmed again on Maui and now here wears in Mauritius,a brand new destination for me, I came here expecting some decent windsurfing after I was looking at the forecast in Warsaw, and decided to come within 2 days, got my flight, flew home first unpacked in middle of the night and packed again to be driving back to the airport same night to catch 2 other flights to score the beginning of some solid Indian Ocean swells, so far I have been in the water everyday pushed by Seva from 6am we were surfing and again windsurfing till before sunset where we were back inthe surf again till dark.
This place is magic, I have been repeating this in my mind the whole time and it is the truth, I been to places and few of them offered such quality of riding, beside the life outside the water is very interesting, nature wise and human wise, people are super nice and friendly, the place where every single surfer windsurfer and kitesurfer should visit once a lifetime.
Check out this couple shots and keep you updated for a sick movie coming soon about here and different destinations: www.theyardmovie.com

Today I am setting my sails toward a new destination in my short traveling life, home spot of Brian Talma, will be hosted by mister talma himself, together with long date friend Julian.
I have some serious traveling to do, catching a flight this morning with Easyjet to England where I am going to get my visa stamped on my passport and then heading to Paris for a night at the airport before checking in again with AA, I think I am over stressing with the checking in because it has been a while since I traveled again, it took me a while to find the perfect itinerary but at the end I hope it will all work.
Easyjet RAKLGW: 32k 45€
AF LGWCDG: 32k?? €?? 90 or 150 or 200
AA CDGBGI: 32k?? $150
You may wonder why I don't fly straight from the UK but only flights toward BGI (Barbados) are operated by BA which doesn't carry boards more than 190cm.
So let's see how all this goes. At the end I am gonna be on a paradise island :) so looking forward I it :)

I got here Saturday night, the biggest day of the forecast I had to rest in the plane slept on my flight from Paris to Los Angeles and then kept awake on the next flight to Papeete to be able to sleep once home. My friend Baptiste was once again waiting for me at the airport, on the way home he told me about how epic and super long the day was, he was towing in raimana and they caught some insane bombs, I was super jealous because I really wanted to catch something towing in, but now I have to wait next swell hopefully before I go..
Next day I arrived I was very mellow no pressure and I controlled my fears I knew it was still big and heavy. While baptist and Robert Teritehau were preparing the ski I went sailing out from the end of the road to teahupo point and when I arrived the spot was pretty packed with surfers tow in, bodyboards and kites, I went to the peak and waited for my turn a while there was some bombs and I really wanted to go for few then there was that first wave, one of the body boarders got a bit angry with me and scared something goes wrong, I got a second one a bit bigger and so on, more confidence, till there was that one got me scared I was a little deep then no wind I felt like I was in the tube I felt the shade of the lip on my face and I took out my back foot from the footstrap waiting for the lip to smash my sail but luckily I made it :) so happy and shocked I was, but the last one was really big and I was a lot deeper I had a west bowl where I went for it to hit but I didn't go well I tried to escape but I was too late and got eaten badly by a good size wave about 10 foot Hawaiian was heavy hold down but it did go well:)
now waiting for more :) tic tac

Is been a super fun trip, been here for almost 4weeks, staying with my friend Baptiste Gossein, been surfing, Standup paddling and windsurfing quite a few gnarly sessions, the waves here are heavy no matter what you ride on them, they re super heavy, fast, beautiful and almost always barreling, I ve been using only my 4,5 and 4,2 quite a surprising, where I thought the wind would be so light here, but it does get windy, now just about to go windsurf Teahupoo and hopefully the set will be consistent, cause we were expecting some big swells last weekend, but never showed up, only the crowed from around the world who made the peak packed :) I also scored 2 big waves towed in by Baptist, ( I thank him so much, the 2 biggest and widest barrels of my life ) and I also broke 3 surf boards on this trip, getting caught in the barrel or not making my air drop,, so tricky and need so much talent and experience in waves,.,and in barrels :) Hopefully the shots will be published sometime soon in the magazines. So happy with my trip here, the time I spent with my friend Baptist, meeting new friends and good people and the times in the water, I always love coming to this place, with amazing vibes, and I hope I can make it back every year. Pics will come soon

It has been quite a while I didnt post much on my progress.. I am back slowly to the water, jumping more than surfing, injured foot is the back one in the footstrap when surfing, and it's not feeling strong yet, I am recovering and getting back my strength, fasting Ramadan, not so easy to workout with no much in the tummy,, I am voted for the Redbull Storm Chase event, based on chasing the biggest storms around the world, which is quite a sick event, So stocked to be part of it, thank to the friends, family and fans who voted for me, I am still struggling to workout a visa for Australia in case next week we have the first mission in Tasmania, so finger crossed, I spent a whole month working out all this visas, Europe, UK, Tahiti, Peru, and now Australia, but also a Japan but didnt make that one yet.,. will see with the forecast later. I am about to pack, either head to one of those destinations, one 2 tickets are booked, I just hope things will workout the way I so hope.. inchalah will go where meant to be. Our DVD Don't Let Go is almost done and out, and also the LAND movie is about to start shooting on October, great story about windsurfing, life in Morocco and how a local windsurfer from Moulay meet up with a dutch girl and off season he get bored and deep and decide to cross the Atlantic heading north from Morocco to Europe, and discover his home country in an amazing journey trough the coast of Morocco, starring Fettah Ahllmara and Thekla Reuten (The American). And I will be playing my actual role, being a professional windsurfer, friend of all the locals.

This is taking too long.. An injury can turn your windsurf life upside down, it is hard to keep up, everyday, all you can do is rest and wait, maybe it will feel better the next day, 2 months later you take off the cast and start to try it out, it hurts still, cant bear weight on it, maybe some windsurfing will do good, but unfortunately, no, it still hurt, cant have it in a footstrap, I cant even move around on the board to tack or so, I can backloop thou and 360 and it hurts, but cant bottom turn, still hurts and all you think about is that foot when you sailing, you forget about the board feeling or the sail's. passion is a cure, it is the cure to all, I didnt reach the level of madness yet... I will be back soon..
